The following was written by Maureen Lynch Bocardo on Facebook with regard to Trump’s racist statement about immigrants:
When my sons' father became a citizen, Pete Wilson, a corrupt Republican, was governor of California. The family was not allowed in to see the ceremony. Hence, we sat out in a hot car in the Sacramento sun. I'd never heard of a ceremony lasting three hours—but, it did. When the new citizens emerged, their faces were glum and angry rather than rejoicing like I'd seen on my students. My husband got into the car and threw the little American flag on the dashboard in disgust and said. "He could be a politician in Mexico. He's more corrupt. The reason it took so long is that the swearing-in didn't take place until everyone had registered as a Republican." I found that strange and questioned. "What do you mean? How could you register to vote before you were technically citizens?" "Exactly," he replied. "And, I argued just that for a very long time. I also argued this is America. We have the right to register to vote as we wish." Then, cabrón in charge said, "No one who does not register Republican will have to come back another day to be sworn in as a citizen. So, I tell all my friends to register as a Republican because I know how to fix it." Apparently, after the swearing-in, the new citizens were offered the microphone if they had anything to say, My sons' father grabbed it first saying, "Now, we are Americans. You have rights. Today, it is too late. Tomorrow, if you don't want to vote as a Republican, go to the city hall in your town and re-register to vote for the party of your choice. I choose to register as a Democrat." He handed back the microphone and walked out of the hall to the sound of the other new citizens applauding and laughing.
So, then, I knew why the family hadn't been invited to the ceremony. My sons' father had scored 100% on 100 question citizenship exam given the same day after he had already passed another exam weeks earlier.
Trump doesn't want immigrants because the majority arrived more intelligent and better educated than he. Isn't that terrible?
Jim Rousch You Hippies aren't doing anything.
Marches and "peaceful demonstrations" never solved anything, or Sandra Bland and Michael Brown would be anonymous people enjoying the weekend.
Elections are now a complete waste of time, because the Republicans break the law and rig the machines in their favour.
WAR is the ONLY SOLUTION-especially since the Alt-Right has vowed to either deport liberals or kill us outright in broad daylight.
You baby boomers are selfish cowards. My generation forced Daryl Gates, first by putting Los Angeles to the torch and then getting him fired from media outlets.
We (the members of Generation X) were willing to destroy EVERYTHING in our path.
Part of the reasons for President Obama's victories in 2008 and 2012 were because of the New Black Panther Party and how they guarded polling stations: ARMED.
This is the only way that we can save America from Trump's fascism. I'm out until you Dorothies realise that you're not in Kansas anymore.
Here's where it all began.
This is why it's time for me to move on and spend more of my time defending those who need my help. It's not just that Facebook isn't psychologically healthy. Another problem is that trolls and people who are very insecure throw their lot in the pot. They then resort to insulting people and cry to Facebook administrators.
Why do that when all you have to do is block?
